Three Things I’m Thankful For

There are three things I’m most thankful for. Firstly, I’m thankful for my family. Luckily, most of my family is alive and healthy and live close by which I’m thankful for. Secondly, I’m thankful for having no disabilities. I’m very thankful for having no disabilities like a leg that will never recover or eyes that will no longer see. Thirdly, I’m thankful for having good food and a roof over my head. I’m thankful for this as there are many other people without food, water, or shelter.

If I Could Switch Places With…

If I could switch places with Mr. Beast, it would be incredible. In case you didn’t know, Mr. Beast is a YouTuber who hosts all this challenges either for other people or on himself. First of all, i would have lots of money. I could have a nice house and nice food, but the main reason I want money is for charity. Not only could I donate to charity to do it, but, like his most recent video, give food and water to people myself. My second reason is I could host pretty much any (legal) challenge I want. It would be cool to host a unique challenge and have prizes for the winners. My final reason is I would have a basically unlimited supply of chocolate. I could have as much chocolate as I wanted and give some to friends.

I Found A Genie’s Lamp!

Well, I didn’t actually find one but if I did, these would be my wishes. My first wish would be to have a gaming computer from the future. First of all, it would be amazing to be able to play games with super high graphics and/or a lot of mods without any lag. And although computer technology usually becomes outdated pretty fast, because this computer is from far into the future, it will be up to standards for a long time. My second wish is to become a wizard! it would be so cool to make a flame or sphere of ice appear at will, or to make crops grow super big super quickly. And if needed to get somewhere quickly, I could fly or teleport. If i need to get out of trouble I could open a pocket dimension or go invisible. My third and final wish is a bookmark that if you leave it in a book for a day, you would know everything in that book. Just think about it! If you needed to study for a test in a certain amount of time or just wanted to know everything about that book, you could just put the bookmark there and you would know everything in the book!

Rad Reading – October

This October I read Sweep by Jonathan Auxier. Sweep is a fiction novel that takes place in London around 1875, a time when many children would work in factories or sweep tight chimneys. The story follows the adventures of Nan Sparrow, a chimney climber herself, as she works for the clean sweep, Wilkie Crudd. When Nan miraculously escapes a chimney fire, the wad of char she had kept from her old sweep comes to life.

The book shows you how most people did not understand or even acknowledge the chimney climbers and how so many were injured, dead, and forgotten. It also shows friendship and seeing the world in different ways can be so wonderful.

My favorite character was Nan’s old sweep as although he was optimistic. The quote from the text, “The girl and her Sweep spent the rest of the afternoon looking through the doll’s eye—beholding the wonders all around them” shows how the sweep, though sick and poor, was always able to see the silver lining in the world.

My favorite quote from the book is, “Even the memory of Charlie, whose death at first blazed inside her, seemed now to have diminished to a kindling warmth.” This is my favorite quote as it shows how Nan was to be happy that that Charlie existed, instead of being sad he was gone. That is why it is my favorite quote.

A Perfect Day Would Be…

If I could have the perfect day it would be all about playing with friends online. First of all, there would be NO school and all my friends could play (so probably the weekend). Secondly, me and my friends could play ANY game, even if we don’t have the platform for it. Some of these games might be Apex Legends, Fortnite, or Roblox. I could also have any snacks or food I want while playing, stuff like Cheez-its, mochi, soda, and Sour Patch Kids. On this perfect day, me and my friends could play so many games and have so much fun!

If Any Age I Could Be, What Would It Be?

If I could be any age I would be twenty-one. I would be twenty-one because I would have the privileges of an adult and taken into consideration. When you’re a kid You are usually not seen as someone mature and are not taken seriously. Also when I’m twenty-one, I can have an able body still in a prime age. Even though I will be an adult, I will still be good at many physical and mental activities. Another thing as that I could work a job and make my own money. Because it’s my own money i could have virtually full ownership of my stuff.

When I Got Penny

Ever since i was young I’ve wanted a cat. This dream came true during the summer of 2020 when me and my dad went to the animal shelter to finally get a cat. When we got there the we asked to see the cats without fleas and we had two options for our cat; a tuxedo and a tortoiseshell. When my dad and I went to see the tuxedo, she was very hyper and full of energy but we were looking for a more relaxed cat. When we met the tortoiseshell who had the shelter name of Peach, she was incredibly relaxed and sat on our lap quietly and fell asleep. We ended up choosing Peach as she was the much more relaxed and exactly the type of cat we were looking for. When my dad brought her home we both noticed that she had a mark on here side that looked like a penny so we renamed her to Penny and, that is when i got Penny.

Penny over three years later

Rad Reading – September

In September I read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Hatchet is a book about a boy named Brian Robeson who was flying in a small bushplane to visit his father during the summer but, while flying over the Canadian wilderness, the pilot suffers a heart attack and knocks the plane of course. After the plane ran out of gas and Brian made an emergency landing into a lake, he is stuck in the Canadian forests, all alone, with only a hatchet.

One of the reasons i loved Hatchet is how it’s really good at capturing the struggle Brian goes through surviving in the wilderness. Gary Paulsen also does an amazing job at letting you visualize the environment in your head as you read through the book.

I really liked Brians character as he gradually became more independent as the book went on. My favorite character trait that Brian developed in the book was being observant. A quote from the book to support this is, “But this time, when the bird flew, something caught his eye and it was the secret key”. This proves Brian is observant as he noticed how he could see the fool birds.

My favorite quote from Hatchet is, “Brian had gained immensely in his ability to observe what was happening and react to it; that would last with him all his life”. This is my favorite quote as it shows how much the wilderness changed Brian when he was there.

A Fantastical World

I would love to live in the fictional universe of hit role playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. For my first reason, it is a mythical world full of different creatures and magic and, it relies on magic much more than technology. I find it fascinating and would love to see everything that would be an oddity in the real world. For my second reason, i would love to be a dungeon crawler and explore the many dungeons in the world and maybe get riches while fighting evil fiends. And finally, i could learn the art of magic, maybe master it, could you imagine? Shooting fire from your hand, a wall of ice appearing in front of you, and making your own pocket dimension!

A Delicious Meal

There is one meal that I like more than anything and usually my parents surprise me with it. A meal I will always love is…sushi! I like the smooth flavors of seafood and how it has many flavors in one bite. Just the right Amount of soy sauce also adds more flavor to it as well. Then, it’s nice to have lagoons on the side to snack on too. And as a drink, I love pink lemonade to sweeten things up. It’s like lemonade, but much sweeter and less sour. And finally as a dessert, mochi ice cream hits the spot. It normal ice cream but encased in mochi. The ice cream’s temperature hardens the mochi slightly and adds surprisingly good extra flavor and texture. Im waiting patiently for the next surprise!
